D-Lib verkkolehti on jälleen kerran ajan hermoilla. Viime vuoden huhtikuussa lehdessä käsiteltiin yhteisöllisiä kirjanmerkkipalveluita (Social Bookmarking Tools (I) - A General Review), jolloin uranuurtajapalvelu del.icio.us oli parin vuoden ikäinen ja alkoi saavuttaa suuren yleisön tietoisuuden. Tammikuun numerossa ilmestynyt Marieke Guyn ja Emma Tonkin artikkeli Folksonomies - Tidying up Tags on varsin hyvä johdatus käyttäjälähtöisen luokittelun (folkosonomioiden) maailmaan.:”Sitä ne folksonomiat ovat(Olisikohan aika pohtia aiheen termien sopivia suomennoksia, kuten Jere merkinnässään ehdottaa.)”:http://www.valt.helsinki.fi/blogs/jjmajava/folksonomiat.htm/”. Kirjoittajat ovat tutkineet muun muassa käyttäjälähtöisten ‘luokitusjärjestelmien’ rakennetta, avainsanojen muotoja ja loppupäätelmissään esittävät joitain ratkaisuja folksonomioissa esiintyviin ongelmiin. Jotkin kirjoittajien mainitsemat ongelmat - esimerkiksi synonyymikontrollin puute - ovat helposti ratkaistavissa. Esimerkiksi 43Things-palvelussa synonyymikontrolli on rakennettu käyttäjien listaamien tavoitteiden(katso sivun alalaita) välille. Synonyymikontrollin kanssa on painittu myös muualla (Tagging tags to make synonyms) ja näyttäisi siltä, että toimivan ratkaisun ympärille voi rakentaa myös bisnestä (TagTagger).

Guy & Tonkin artikkelista löytyi linkki mielenkiintoiseen kokeiluun, jossa del.icio.us -palvelun suunnatonta avainsanojen määrää jäsennetään kymmentahoisen fasettirakenteen alle.(fac.etio.us). Pikakokeilun perusteella toimivalta tuntuva idea.

    TagTagger taitaa olla läppä, vaikkakin tämä “metatäggääminen” on kyllä mielenkiintoinen prosessi.

    Koulussani saamani tiedon mukaan “tag” l. “täg” on suomeksi “avainsana” (eri kuin “asiasana” joka on sidottu johonkin asiasanastoon).
